Notification Regarding Break-In on 26th August 2019

The Partners wish to bring to your attention the details surrounding a break-in which took place at the surgery in the early hours of Monday 26th August 2019 and to reassure you that we have taken all steps necessary to ensure that this is not repeated.

Unfortunately, as a result of the break in, some signed patient prescriptions were removed from the surgery. These contained the following patient identifiable and other data: name, address, date of birth, age and medication.

We have taken this breach very seriously and have reported the incident to all relevant parties including our Commissioners, NHS England and the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Since the break-in we have strengthened and reinforced the protection to the doors both outside and within the Practice and have changed the cupboards and locks. We would like to reassure you that our patient’s safety is paramount to us. The break-in was reported to the police as soon as it had been discovered and they are investigating this fully.

The prescriptions boxes have since been found and recovered by the Police.

Hopefully this will give you reassurance of our continued efforts

The NHS APP is now available at this surgery. Please see the Further Information column for more details

If you are struggling to make arrangements to get to an appointment, we have been advised of a local community car service. For more information please call 01908 670309 or email sarah.thurstans@volunteeringmatters.org.uk
